The Bob Blue Video, entitled "What Matters" is now available. This 45-minute piece, created by Ann Morse and Shoshana Hoose, focuses on the ways that Bob has used music in his work with children. It includes excerpts from the "Bob Blue: A Singing Tribute" concert in May, 1997, interviews with Bob, footage of him interacting with children at the Fort River School in Amherst, archival footage of his musicals and performances and interviews with others familiar with Bob's work, including Pete Seeger.
"What Matters" won a bronze plaque at the Columbus International Film and Video Festival, in the category of education. It also got a nice review in the July/August edition of "Video Librarian" that described the video as "a heartwarming profile with an endearing, 'home-made' quality."
The video previously showed at the Center for Independent Documentary.
Each copy costs $25, plus $1.50 for shipping from Catharine Haver. Additional contributions are welcomed to help with distribution costs. Please include your name, mailing address, phone, and e-mail address. Make checks payable to Bob Blue Video.
