A Jewish wedding consists of two parts: the betrothal and the actual wedding. In times gone by, the betrothal would typically take place about a year before the wedding. In modern times, the ceremonies are typically combined into one. Sandi and Jim had their betrothal ceremony on the day before the wedding.
